  • Mikey 1974 - I salute you!!! You nailed it. There are no substitutes for good parenting and I see your parents and you have learned it. As a single mother with no support from their deadbeat Dad, I was hard-strapped to support my kids. Being latch-key kids was their situation, but I was good to them.

  • This article really hits home. But I'd like to add a few things. I am a boomer parent with 2 Gen X'er kids, now grown. Boomers did not know how to parent due to the widespread abuse and alcoholism rampant in our parents, the WW2 generation.

  • Many Russian men are raging alcoholics who often beat their wives. It's a grim situation for Russian women over there which is why they look for American husbands. Things like this don't happen unless there is some karma involved. He obviously got what he deserved.
